 Alibaba to increase stake in SingPostAlibaba Group Holding Ltd., is encouraging e-commerce further with an investment to expand its holdings in Singapore Post Ltd (SingPost) and its e-commerce subsidiary, reports suggest. The investment is worth around USD 205.98 million, as per reports.

A unit of Alibaba had bought 10 percent stake in SingPost last year for USD 249 million. Now Alibaba is investing to buy 5 percent stake in SingPost for SUSD 187.1 million. Further, Alibaba would invest around USD 92 million in purchasing a 34 percent stake in Quantium Solutions International, the e-commerce logistics subsidiary of SingPost serving Asia Pacific. After Singapore Telecommunications, Alibaba is the second largest shareholder in SingPost, at present. SingPost is seeking to push its e-commerce unit further, to offset weak postal revenues, as per reports.
