IDI to launch Find Your Diamond in Chinese at September HK Jewellery & Gem Fair
With the Chinese system, buyers would be able to access Find Your Diamond on their smartphones and at dedicated terminals. The popular Find Your Diamond system enables buyers to search a computerized database of all goods offered by Israeli exhibitors at the show.
At the September show the Israel Diamond Pavilion will once again be one of the largest extending over 1200 square meters and featuring 98 companies. There will also be about 20 additional Israeli companies exhibiting locations throughout the show. The pavilion is organized by IDI.
IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar said that he was cautiously optimistic about the outcome of the show. “We are hoping to attract buyers from all over Asia – Hong Kong, China, India and elsewhere. Also from as far away as the U.S. and Australia. This is a slow period in most Asian markets and our experience in previous shows in Hong Kong this year has been mixed. But as you can see from the Israeli participation in this show, we believe in the Asian markets and we are in them for the long haul,” he said.
The Israel Diamond Pavilion at the Asia World Expo will include a special lounge area for buyers wherein three Find Your Diamond terminals will feature.
The Israeli Diamond Industry sees Asian markets, led by Hong Kong, as among its most important long-term growth areas. Hong Kong is today Israel’s second largest market for polished diamonds after the United States, representing close to 30 percent of Israel’s total polished exports. Israel’s net polished diamond exports to Hong Kong reached $1.9 billion in 2014. This year IDI will again be sponsoring the September Hong Kong Show’s opening reception and be an Honoured Partner of the JNA Awards.
