Malabar Gold donates $2.72 million for medical research
Malabar Gold Diamonds has donated AED10 million ($2.72 million) to Al Jalila Foundation for research in genetic diseases and disorders, as per reports. This initiative extends its many efforts in corporate social responsibility, which accounts for 5 percent of its business earnings, as per reports.
Also, the research will help benefit the globe ultimately, especially those areas where genetic diseases are more prevalent.
According to reports, the company views the donation to be an expression of its gratitude to UAE. Also, the company noted that its growth as a leading player in diamonds and gold jewellery has been supported with the infrastructure and business ease given by the UAE government and the leadership of UAE, as per reports.
Al Jalila Foundation is a global a global philanthropic organisation dedicated to transforming lives through medical education and research, was founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Dubai in April 2013.
