The ongoing Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) features a curated Central Exhibition showcasing vintage and privately owned jewellery displayed in Qatar for the first time, as per reports. The exhibition is entitled ‘Once upon a time… luxury’, and includes collections by Fifty One East, Al Fardan Jewellery, Ali Bin Ali and Al Majed Jewellery- leading luxury retailers of Qatar. There are over 15 rare pieces to be seen at the central exhibition – an 18k yellow gold pocket watch detailed with a 30-minute counter and perpetual calendar presented to His Majesty King Fuad of Egypt by the Swiss Colony in Egypt in 1929, being one of them. Boucheron lent pieces dating between 1902 to 1954 from its museum in Paris including gold and diamond brooches, a matching powder case and lipstick holder, a square yellow gold ladies wristwatch with invisible clasp, and a purse made of 12 articulated panels, as per reports.

From Al Fardan Jewellery is a Piaget watch, with 217 beautiful baguette cut diamonds and a watch face radiating sunshine detail. Ali Bin Ali offers jewellery from 1950s by Van Cleef Arpels – a gold and diamond necklace and earring set which was part of the former collection of Her Imperial Highness Princess Soraya of Iran.

Al Majed Jewellery has two collections of striking natural pearls: a vast necklace featuring 2,569 individual pearls connected to five pieces of white diamonds and a jewellery set displaying natural pearls, diamonds and enthralling emeralds, as per reports.

Central Exhibition is a new segment added to the DJWE which is being held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
